Timothy A. Piganelli

Timothy A. Piganelli is the owner of LEGAL TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING LLC, based in Phoenix, AZ. Through LTC, he provides comprehensive strategic consulting services in a full line of computerized litigation support computerized trial presentation and courtroom technology, graphics and animation, software training, expert witness and accident reconstruction engineering. Tim is a 1988 graduate of Arizona State University, holding degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering Technology. He was President of and is a lifetime member of Pi Tau Sigma, the National Honor Society for Mechanical Engineering; and is a lifetime member of Tau Alpha Pi, the National Honor Society for Engineering Technologists.

After graduating college, Tim began working as a consulting engineer for an accident reconstruction and vehicle safety group in Phoenix, Arizona. During that time, he was involved in engineering accident reconstruction, mathematical modeling of vehicle dynamics for full motion animations, as well as scene and vehicle inspections. His clients included General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Ford and Suzuki. It was here that Tim realized the potential power of using computer technology in litigation and trials. In 1993, Tim began working for a software development company involved in the development and application of legal specific and litigation support software. Tim work as a consultant and trainer for all aspects of litigation support from document review and imaging to trial presentation and courtroom technology. Tim developed training programs for service bureaus, courtroom staff, court reporters, consulting firms and law firm staff interested in imaging technology, computerized trial presentation, and courtroom technologies. It was always Tim’s goal to combine the powerful and simple application of personal computer technology to the litigation process, especially at trial. With these thoughts in mind, Tim formed Legal Technology Consulting LLC in January 1996, a company offering expert consulting in all aspects of litigation support, reconstruction engineering, and courtroom and trial technologies.

Tim has lectured extensively on the topic throughout the nation since 1994, and has co-authored a book on the subject of trial presentation and courtroom technology, Litigation Management, published by The Rutter Group. He is recognized as one of the top experts in the country in the field of computerized trial presentation, and courtroom technologies. Tim is a frequent speaker on a national basis in the area of Legal Technology at conferences throughout North America including the American Bar Association's Annual TechShow in Chicago, National Court Reporters Association, National Associations of Legal Assistants, the Rutter Group seminar conference series, and many others. Since 1993, he has been involved in over 70 computerized trial projects in all venues, in both civil and criminal cases. Tim recently taught a course on computer assisted litigation to law students as an Adjunct Professor at the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California.
